1. Use a free online tool.
Your public IP address can be identified in a variety of ways. The simplest method is to use a free online tool to find your IP address. This tool will quickly tell you your IP address, location, and ISP.
2. Make use of Google search.
Another option is to use Google search to find your public IP address. Simply type in “what is my IP address” or “how to find my IP address,” and the search engine will tell you — though it will not reveal your ISP or location.
It's easy to find your local IP address, and it usually only takes a few clicks, but the clicks vary depending on which version of Windows you're using. Here's how to find your local IP address using the Windows command prompt (CMD):
To access the command prompt, open the Start (Windows) menu and type cmd into the search bar. If you don't see a search bar, go to the Start menu and select "Run."
Enter ipconfig at the command prompt or in the Run box. The IP address is one of several network arcana that will be displayed in a new window.
Select “System Preferences...” from the Apple menu.
Navigate to the View menu and select "Network."
Click on the network connection in the left column, which is usually Ethernet or Wi-Fi depending on whether you have a wired or wireless connection.
